Congratulations! You have been selected to attend a job interview for an office position in a local company.
We know that interviews are nerve-racking experiences so we have created this 360° degree interactive training scenario to help prepare you for a real life job interview and also to give you an idea of what to expect in this type of busy working environment.
Instructions:
• Audio - sound is an essential part of this training session so please ensure that you are using speakers or headphones.
• Looking Around - click and drag your left mouse button to view your environment in all directions.
• Hotspots - by clicking on these, you will be able to read information and also navigate from one area to another.
• Fairy Jobmother - click on the TV screens for a short video giving some additional advice and support.
• Interview Questions - during the interview you will be asked a series of questions. You will have 60 seconds to consider your response and write your answer in you worksheet. Your advisor will contact you afterwards to go through your answers and give you additional support if needed.
Please use the next few minutes to look around, prepare your answers and focus your thoughts. Try and be calm, friendly and professional.

These people might also be waiting to attend a job interview. See how they are smartly dressed and are not looking at their phones. This is because they want to make the best impression possible to a potential employer.
It's highly likely that they're feeling just as nervous as you so don't be afraid to talk to them! Using the time before an interview to make friends with the other candidates can be a great way to ease the tension that everyone is feeling.
In a group interview situation, interviewers will notice the people in the group who are leading conversations. This shows them that you’re skilled with networking, and it’s a great way to display confidence.
However, if you don't feel comfortable with starting a conversation that's fine too - just a friendly smile can help!
For a lot of people, busy offices can be overwhelming at first. People moving around, having conversations, multiple phones ringing, unfamiliar machinery and equipment can all add up to feeling like your senses are being bombarded.
This is a very normal response. Although this can feel very daunting, try to keep calm and focused on the reason you're here - to show that you're the right person for this job.
If you're able, take a few seconds to pay attention to the workplace and people around you as it'll allow you to get a better sense of the company culture. After all, the interview process is a two-way street - not only are you being evaluated, but you should also be evaluating the company and its employees.
Make observations on how formal the setting is. How do employees dress? Is it formal (smart) or informal (more casual)? Do people have personal items on their desks? Is there informal and casual conversation in the hallways? Is the feeling relaxed and friendly or tense and urgent? These are easily made observations despite feeling nervous.
If possible, try to notice a particular feature (a picture on the wall for example) that you could mention during the interview to help with the flow of conversation. This shows the interviewer that you're observant and interested in the workplace and could even lead to you being offered a tour of the office. If not, don't be afraid to request one so you can get a sense of the environment and the opportunity to meet some potential co-workers.
